Workshop 1: 3rd European Summer School on Bio-Based Composites
The 3rd European Summer School on Bio-Based Composites (ESBBC-3) took place in Cambridge in September 2025, gathering early-career researchers and leading experts in sustainable materials.
Hosted at St John’s College and organised in partnership with the University of Cambridge, the event also marked the first UPWEARS workshop, highlighting both the UPWEARS and SSUCHY-NEXT projects.
Over 2.5 days, participants engaged in keynote lectures, masterclasses, flash presentations, and hands-on workshops, alongside networking activities such as punting on the River Cam.
The programme explored key themes including processing and value chains, application-driven design, material performance, digital approaches, and end-of-life management.
The event concluded with awards, collaborative discussions, and forward-looking exchanges on the future of bio-based composites.
