UBFC including UFC & ENSMM

UBFC is a public group of institutions, composed among others of UFC – University of Franche‐Comté and ENSMM. These three institutes compose the FEMTO-ST Laboratory which bring together research departments in the areas of mechanics, materials, mechatronics, electronics, acoustics, opto-electronics, energy, and time-frequency systems (micro-chemical gas sensors).

 

Role in the project
In UPWEARS, UBFC will bring its expertise in the mechanical behaviour of plant fibres, fibrous materials, and composites. It will share its know-how in multi-scale testing, X-ray microtomography and in-situ testing. It will also bring expertise in Micro and Nano Sciences & Systems. Their MIFHySTO (micro-manufacturing for the miniaturisation, functionalisation and hybridisation of micro-technical systems and tooling) technological platform will be used for the realisation of the microtomography experiments and MIMENTO (MIcrofabrication for MEcanics, Nanosciences, Thermal and Optics) technology centre will be used for the fabrication of the integrated micro-chemical gas sensors.
